Poinsettia von Poel is a gorgeous 16 month old German Shepherd. This friendly, active and smart girl knows “Sit," ‘Down” and “Paw” and will happily show you in exchange for treats taken gently from your hand. Poinsettia is polishing up her leash skills while at the rescue. Having a “ready for action” attitude, she sometimes needs directions to curb her enthusiasm, but she will honor your request and come to a “Heel” position. She is always happy to meet new people and dogs along the way, but she can be too energetic for some, needing to settle down a bit before socializing. In playgroups she proves herself the ultimate greeter, and being off-leash she is calmer, comfortable with other dogs and loves to romp and play. Poinsettia will break away from the pack to come up to people for petting and affection, including giving gentle little kisses. This sweet and dynamic young lady would love another playful dog in her home but is a “No, thank you” for cats.
